FAQs

How do I buy tickets to the after party?
Join us at the after party for an additional $15 per person! Sign-ups were available during the Online Auction and we have a limited quantity available at the auction event. We’ll have a LIVE band (Four with special guest guitarist Rod Cook) and a special delivery of Dick’s Drive-In burgers.

What is the program—how long will the event last?
The main auction event is 5:30 – 10:00 p.m. but don’t fret if you can’t arrive right when the event opens. After rounding up the funds for our little ones, our after party will start with our live band for a boot scootin', line-dancin' good couple o' hours!

What kind of items are at the auction?
There truly is something for everyone! The online auction will have kid and adult party tickets, teacher experiences, sports camps, gift certificates to local waterin’ holes, and other fun-tastic items up for grabs. The night of the auction will feature even more items available for the bidding! During the silent auction, expect to see Pacific Northwest experiences, salon and spa packages, fitness classes, fine art, wines, sporting event tickets and donations from popular local business. The live auction will feature the always exciting classroom art projects and amazing items such as travel getaways and group dinner events.

Why do we have an auction?
The View Ridge PTA has a commitment to raise the quality of the education at View Ridge beyond what Seattle Public Schools is able to provide. The auction, in addition to the Annual Appeal, help fund additional teaching and staffing positions allowing View Ridge to provide weekly instruction in music, art, movement, and technology, as well as a counselor, specialists, full-time librarian, and a full-time nurse among others.

What does Raise the Paddle mean?
Raise the paddle is a tradition at View Ridge where families ‘raise their paddle’ to support a specific area of need at the school. In previous years, the funds have gone to support the new playground as well as support classroom technology. Donations are appreciated at any level! This year’s Raise the Paddle cause will be announced closer to the event.

How can I help?
You can support View Ridge in many different ways! Purchase your auction tickets. Donate to the Dessert Dash. And you don’t have to attend the auction to make a difference. Consider making a tax-deductible donation.

Do you need volunteers?
We are always looking for awesome volunteers to help with the auction! Sign up to volunteer the day and/or night of the auction or please reach out and contact our Volunteer Coordinator for more details.

Is childcare provided?
The event is an adults-only event, and the View Ridge PTA does not provide childcare. Book your babysitters now!

How is seating arranged?
We want our entire school community to feel welcome and have fun! Our tables seat 10 people; you can either get together and register for an entire table or our awesome auction committee will group you with other parents in the same grade as your child and you can meet new friends!

What do I wear?
You can choose to dress for the theme (this is the chance to wear those wrangler jeans and cowboy boots) or festive party attire. Don’t stress, just dress for a fun night out!

How do I get there?
You are encouraged to hire driving services to and from the auction to ensure y’all can kick off your boots and enjoy the fun but also get back home on the range safely!  We are working on securing a discount and will keep you posted if we succeed!
